The basic visual quality of the space is the open public space of the amphitheater together with the level of the multifunctional exhibition space. An amphitheater was formed through the ground floor arrangement, which is at the same time, a part of the ground floor arrangement and suggests its purpose in terms of shape. It unites the newly designed solution for the arrangement of the Svetosavski plateau and the project of a public underground garage in Skerlićeva Street.

The spatial context opens a series of architectural questions, which primarily relate to the contemplation of measured position and volume. The key question is: how to accept and include new content while maintaining the character of the place?
The newly designed building has a dual character: at the same time it is part of the National Library and a continuation of the newly designed ground floor arrangement of the Svetosavski plateau. This distinction prevails in every perception of the object; at no point is it seen as an isolated entity. In this way, a kind of character of the place was created - the beginning of the Library and the end of the ground floor are inconceivable.
The designer's attitude is based on the identification and affirmation of standing relationships, outlines and traces. A slight movement of the terrain formed an extension of the newly designed Svetosavski plateau. Through the functional and technical mastering of the leveling of the terrain, the spatial connection of the Plateau, the Library and the newly designed garage was achieved.

The geometry and position of the proposed structure are complementary to the existing Library building - it unites its fragmented structure. The building is not accentuated in height - it is conceived as an extension of the ground floor of the Library, which forms a multifunctional space with the ground floor design of the Plateau.
